Mental health

  • Anxiety

Anxiety can have physical symptoms but is based on fear or a worry that you cannot understand or manage. The feelings can be strong. Panic attacks are one manifestation of this where you feel a racing heart of other symptoms in your body like feeling faint or dizzy or nausea or stomach cramps or other random aches and pains.

  • Depression

Depression can have a variety of reasons but it means your energy is low and you have very little motivation or you are tearful more often than is usual. The reasons for this are generally to do with your life situation either present or past and you could be experiencing this at work, in a relationship or in a new challenge in life. The key generally to feeling better is to try and understand and give a shape to why you may be feeling like this.

  • The Wellbeing Service

The Wellbeing Service is an in-house service provided by our in-house counsellors led by Rohan Mistry and Verenia Rajaloo. The service is there for you to discuss your concerns and we can then decide what the best course of action may be. This may involve a change of lifestyle like doing something differently in your life. We may look at some techniques, websites or reading which may be of help or think about counselling services or a group.

If you would like to meet one of us to discuss your concerns then please fill in the wellbeing service patient questionnaire and make an appointment either via the practice or online for an initial meeting.

The completely confidential questionnaire is sent directly to a senior counsellor if completed online.
